Founded in 1848, Fremont is located on Highway 23 midway between Oskaloosa and Ottumwa. We are also 12 miles from the Cargill Complex in Eddyville. We are proud of our recently constructed K-8 school. Max Marlin Meeting Notices
City Council meets at the City Hall on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 P.M. Agenda items must be presented to the City Clerk by 3:00 P.M. Thursday before the meeting. Fremont Development Corporation and Fremont Foundation meet at the Fremont Community Center on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. Fremont has a very good set of City Ordinances and makes every attempt to see that they are enforced. Among those ordinances are leash laws, snow ordinances, mowing ordinances, junk vehicle ordinances and nuisance ordinance. The City Code is available for inspection at the City Hall Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and noon and between 1:00 PM and 3:00PM. |
